A global dimension

What is a global dimension

The term refers to a framework of eight key concepts. These include: values and perceptions, diversity, conflict resolution, interdependence, human rights, global citizenship, sustainable development and social justice. Clearly, a strong link here with our work on values education.

Setting up a partnership

Linking communities through partnership working will enable powerful learning opportunities. We have experience working with educators from around the world in the design and development of effective partnerships.

The Global Gateway contains a database of schools from around the world that are interested in developing partnerships. Select a partner using the "find a partner" scheme. The global gateway also provides useful advice and support about partnership activities and funding.

Successful linking depends upon forming a sound partnership where the needs of both partners are identified, acknowledged and acted upon. The UKOWLA website provides some useful thinking about best practice.
