North Tyneside VODA delivered a values workshop at a recent meeting of organisations funded by V – the national youth volunteering charity. The workshop was attended by staff members from voluntary and public sector organisations across the North East including BTCV, Changemakers, East Durham College and CSV Sunderland. Delivered by Laura Johnson and Eva Savickaite from VODA, the workshop provided an excellent opportunity for staff from different projects to work together, discussing and agreeing a shared values framework to run projects that inspire young people to volunteer. The activity was extremely well received and had a very successful outcome. The core values agreed by the participating organisations were:
Playful,Integrity,Achievement,Creativity,Courage,Commitment,Contributing,
Empowerment,Life,Learning and Tolerance
In the next session participants will agree the kind of behaviours that will be seen if these values are honoured. These workshops have been supported by resources developed by Turning tides Ltd.
